I’ve written about Marion Deuchar’s work before (on her exciting composition for a young artist sketchbook for Cass Art), but I revisited her portfolio this morning and found yet another example of handwritten and illustrative design. A London-based artist, Deuchar’s work ranges from book cover drawings to annual report designs to an extensive repertoire of illustrations for the Guardian. For Deuchar, the interaction between the word and the image is clear— images often interrupt the typewritten text and her fluid handwriting covers and surrounds photographic representations.
